Grad pictures – plus a little work/life update

I’m almost one month into my big- girl job as a veterinarian! It has been tough, and it’s definitely been a huge learning curve. My days are long and being a newb is stressful. Then I come home and sleep at like 9:30 every night, and that is just so unlike me LOL! I have always been a night owl, and I love staying up – and in fact, night time is when I find myself most productive. On top of that, we have been busy moving into a new place, and I have had no time to hop on here. I can’t even explain how much I have missed it! I started this blog so I can have an outlet for my passions outside of work that makes me happy, and it feels so good to be back at it for a bit.

So, when preparing for the real, working world I had to think about what essentials I needed. Veterinary medicine is a job where comfort and functionality is key. As a lover of fashion however, style is a huge factor for me as well!

OUTFIT DETAILS — TOP: FIGS [I am wearing the XS] || PANTS: FIGS [ I am wearing the S] ||

I have been waiting for the past few years to buy my first pair of FIGS scrubs, because I wanted to make it special. And OMG they were soooo worth the wait! These are hands down the nicest and most comfortable scrubs I have ever owned! They fit great, feel great and look polished and professional, which is really important to me. I am a new graduate, and it’s important for me to build a sense of trust and credibility with my clients – and I think looking the part is key!

OUTFIT DETAILS — COAT: Medelita [I am a 2 here. I also bought THIS one as well and I love it!] || DRESS: Lovers and Friends [This dress is on sale now and there are still lots of sizes available]|| SHOES: Christian Louboutins || STETHOSCOPE: Littman Classic III [I have this is the pearl pink color]

I have also been waiting for the moment where I can buy my first doctors coat, and I knew exactly where I wanted to go to for this. Medelita is the Coco Chanel of white coats, if you will. They have so many chic and stylish designs, which is so refreshing since white coats are usually really frumpy and do not tend to be very flattering. It was really important for me to choose stylish coats, because I believe that caring for professional presence is important! Finding well-made heavy duty coats was just as important, because the veterinary profession can be a bit messy and unpredictable, and I wanted coats that would stand up to it all! Their coats are made of amazing quality fabric that is very thick and sturdy, yet moves with ease which is great! I am so happy with them, and I’m glad I splurged because I know they will stay with me for a long time!

I’m really excited to share some cute and functional work outfits in the future that can be inspo for anyone in the medical field (veterinarians, doctors, nurses, physical therapists, dentists, etc). I took these pictures before graduation and I’m so excited to finally share some of them!

xoxo,

Monica
