Ok so I bought this dress a while back – like before the wedding (so maybe a year ago). I wore it on our honeymoon and it was the perfect dress for a nice dinner. This dress is a “WOW” dress. While it’s incredibly simple, it also has some serious presence. The high-low ruffle detail at the bottom gives it some drama and personality but the color tones it down and makes it classy and elegant. It’s also crazyyyyy flattering which came as a surprise to me. It is just such a fun and sweet dress and even though it’s no longer sold online, I saw a TON of them at the Banana Republic outlet just yesterday, and it’s half off! I think it comes out to $70!! It can be worn for formal occasions like engagement parties, cocktails, or a night out BUT it can also be worn more casually (I wore this to church, for example). It’s the perfect mix!
Even though the dress itself is statement enough, the fact that it’s a solid, long, navy dress made me want to brighten it up with a fun earring. I love these ones I am wearing from J Crew because they have the same navy color as the dress and a bright blue giving it a subtle drama and a pop of color. Honestly, any kind or color of statement earring would work since so much can go well with navy blue, but I like to keep things a bit more subdued. The earrings I tagged above are the same colors and are super cute! Statement earrings are definitely an essential item for the summer -they are a great way to have fun with your outfit!
